Julie

Julie is passionate about gardening and learning. Julie's gardening journey started with her grandfather, as a child in Michigan.

As an adult, in 1989 Julie moved to Texas and lives in Zone 8a. The move was to a new hardiness zone, with different plants, soil and weather. This presented challenges but it presented opportunities too.

Julie lives with her husband,, three huskies, and their sweet cat Billy, and lifelong dream greenhouse (and approximately 50 Plumeria Trees and countless other plants). All of this resides on a little more than an acre, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Our current home was another challenge. After learning how to select plants and garden in the Texas sun. She met her husband and moved the their current home.
This home and property had different challenge than Julie had been faced with in the past..
For example, almost full shade, over 100 trees to care for. Clay soil in the back and sandy soil in the front. Erosion due to water flow issues. After 8 years of research and trial and error, the plans are coming together.
She's continued to learn and grow her knowledge of gardening and landscaping by researching topics, trying new things, and yes, making mistakes.
